No Man's Land

I told my friend, DiAnn, ,there is a scene in War Horse that I loved (as sad as the scene was, I loved it).  The horse, War Horse, was running wild between the British and German trenches, confused, dazed and crazy with bewilderment but he was running full speed for something....anything.  That is how I feel right now.  Like I am running full speed in No Man's Land between good and evil.  I know God is with me.  I get that.  But right now I am still running like that crazy horse with no sense of direction.  I don't think I will find it until a doctor has real words for me. A diagnosis.  A treatment plan.  You know me....I like schedules, plans, dates, something tangible.  Nothing is tangible right now.  Doctors throw out words like "high grade" and "aggressive" and expect me to sit with that.  But instead I take off like that War Horse.

I have decided to collect scriptures/quotes to take with me to the hospital or to treatment.  If you would like to leave one here on my blog, please do and write your name under it.  I will print them out and take them with me.  Your words are the only ones I am hearing now.  The doctors sure aren't saying a dang thing.

  1. When I was going through some rough times a few years back, there was one verse that stuck out almost from the very beginning of that journey... it was Psalm 46:10 - "Be Still and know that I am God"

    Love you CC.

  2. Your last three posts certainly show the roller coaster that you on right now. So much to lose, so much to gain. So much that is completely out of your hands and only in His. I'll be praying!

  3. 2 Corinthians 10:5, We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Chrsit.

Philipians 4:8, Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Romans 15:13, May the God of all hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Isaiah 26:3, You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

I'll stop there. God is with you and nothing takes him by suprise. He loves you and loves your family. Satan is attacking you and giving you 'what if' thoughts. Just take those captive and wait for 'what is true'. Satan wants you worried and fearful, he wants you down and defeated, that is where you feel the worst and less focused on what God has planned and you are unable to see God hand moving. Keep focused on Christ. These words are not just for you, I have to tell them to myself often.

  11. Daniel 3:17-18 17 If the God we serve exist, then He can resue us from the furnance of blazing fire, and He can rescue us from the power of you, the king. 18 But even if He does not rescue us, we want you as king to know that we will not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set.
We will pray and pray, God will answer and you will not bow. This verse helped me through the problems Mason faced. Music is good too. Point of Grace new CD has a song "Heaven Knows" one line says it all, I didn't ask for this plan, and also their song "God is so Good" helped me with Mason. Casting Crowns, "Praise You in this Storm" The list could go on and on.

  12. CeCe ... My husband Jon and I were married 12/31/2010. Nine days before our wedding, he was diagnosed with a raging heart infection and was hospitalized until a little over 48 hours before the wedding was to take place. When we said our vows, he had a PICC line in his arm, delivering high powered antibiotics directly to his heart. A month and a day later, my brand-new husband was back in the hospital, this time to have open-heart surgery to replace the infected mitral valve. Two months after our wedding, his kidneys hemorrhaged and he nearly died from blood loss on the floor of our bathroom. Four months after our wedding, we were told that he had a mold growing in his heart and that he was probably going to die ... and then 48 hours later, the doctors couldn't find the mold at all.

I write all of that to say ... I've not been the one sick, but I've been the one weeping tears and crying out to God for healing. Here are two verses that I held very dear to my heart during those first four months of my marriage, when I spent far more time sleeping in a hospital than I did in my bed at home.

Psalm 34:19 "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all."

Jeremiah 30:17 "For I will restore health unto you, and I will heal you of your wounds, saith the Lord."

By the way, my husband has totally been healed ... praise God! He is a walking testament to the healing powers of our Savior. I'm praying for your healing, too!

  13. 2 Cor 4:15-16"15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." This is a verse I had committed to memory but I had not seen verse 15 until just now! May it bless your heart as it has blessed mine.
God Bless You CeCe! I will be praying for you my friend! Kyle
